On November 13th, after two day's translation, adjustment and placement, the first segment of the south main bridge of the Fourth Macau-Taipa Bridge, manufactured by CRBBG, was successfully loaded onto the ship at CRBBG's Yangzhou Wharf and sent to the construction site in Macau.
The bridge, which will be built east of Friendship Bridge, will connect a land reclamation area and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Zhuhai-Macao port to the north with another reclamation area to the south. It will span the outer and inner harbour waterways.
The fourth Macau-Taipa bridge project is carried out by a joint venture consisting of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group Co. Ltd. and Omas Construction and Engineering Company Limited. In which, CRBBG is responsible for the production of about 37,000 tons of steel structures, including the South Main Bridge (with a total length of 685m and a total weight of about 25,000 tons) and the South Approach Bridge (with a total length of 540m and a total weight of about 12,000 tons).
