On February 29, Baoji Mayor Hui Jincai gave the order of commencement of work that the construction of heavy haul manganese steel crossing production base invested by CRBBG officially began.

This base is located in Baoji national high-tech development zone and covers an area of 312,000 square meters. With its annual productivity of 15,000 sets of heavy haul manganese steel crossing when completed, it will become the machnining & manufacutring base for manganese steel crossings specially for railways with the largest scale, the most advanced technology and the most product variety in China. The investment and construction of this project can solve the problems of environmental protection, process upgrading, equipment improvement, shop floor and safety management faced by CRBBG's casting shop and crossing shop at present. And above all, along with the advancement of mechanization degree, the improvement of process level and the increase of production efficiency in the new environment, CRBBG's product quality and market share will be further reinforced and enhanced and better able to meet the market demand at home and abroad.

High manganese steel crossings are widely used on railways at present with its higher strength and impact toughness. As the Railway Equipment R&D Center and National Enterprise Technical Center in China as well as one of the world's five turnout manufacturers, CRBBG develops various manganese steel and alloy steel crossings with leading technologies, advanced processes and high quality, which occupy an important position in domestic and foreign markets. This year, CRBBG carried out the concept of Green Development, accelerated industry and product transformation and upgrading, and start the construction project of production base for heavy haul manganese steel crossings according to market trend. This project is also the fourth industrial base built by CRBBG after the construction of steel structure & steel bridge manufacture base in Yanghzou, railway turnout manufacture base in Nanjing, and urban rail transit industry base in Baoji.
