On July 10, the acceptance meeting for the initial workpiece for steel tower of Jiuzhou Navigation Bridge (JNB), CB05-G2 Section of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), was held at Yangzhou. HZMB Administration Chief Engineer Su Quanke, Assistant Director and Deputy Chief Engineer Zhang Jinwen, Steel Structure Office Director Liu Jizhu, Mork MacDonald Co., Ltd Quality Management Consultant Zhu Shaojiang, CB05 Section Project Headquarters Deputy Manager and Chief Dispatcher Zhang Lichao, China Classification Society Deputy General Manager Liu Zhongyuan, China Railway Bridge Survey & Design Institute Deputy General Manager Zhang Qiang, CRBBG General Manager Li Zongmin, and leaders and experts from Jiangsu Fasten Material Analysis & Inspecting Co., Ltd, were present at the meeting. Mao Xuefeng, Deputy Officer of Supervision Office of SB04 Section of HZMB, presided over the meeting.
During the meeting, the leaders and experts went deep into the production field, carefully examined the actual fabricated product, reviewed the construction data in detail, and listened to the "Report on Fabrication of the Initial Workpiece for Steel Tower of JNB" made by CB05-G2 Section Project Department, "Report on Supervision Work and Quality Evaluation of the Initial Workpiece for Steel Tower of JNB" made by Steel Structure Resident Office of SB04 Section, "Report on Acceptance Verification of the Initial Workpiece for Steel Tower of JNB" made by Quality Management Consultant, and "Test Report for Acceptance of the Initial Workpiece for Steel Tower of JNB for CB05-G2 Section of HZMB" made by nondestructive testing party.
The expert team agreed after field inspection and discussion that, the structure of the initial workpiece selected, tower segment T2Z, was typical; the data provided were complete, detailed and creditable, and the technical process documents accordingly could be used for fabrication of subsequent tower segments; the fabrication plan and process of tower segment is scientific and proper, multiple mechanical and automated quipment was developed and used, and various fixtures and lift devices were elaborately designed, thus achieved assembly, welding and lifting without any damage; and various new technologies and automated and mechanical equipment are used for fabrication of steel tower of JNB, which guaranteed a high and stable quality of product. Therefore, it was agreed to be put into batch production.
Chief Engineer Su made an important speech. He expected that CRBBG further summed up the experience of fabrication of the initial workpiece as well as fixed the process documents, in order to ensure a sustained quality in batch production.
General Manager Li addressed in his speech that CRBBG would seriously take the advices of all leaders and representatives, make meticulous construction and continuous improvement, and make arduous efforts to build HZMB a landmark bridge project leading in China.
