At a.m. 11:30 of April 20, with the command of the headquarters, the last deck block of Liuzhou Weiyi Bridge was lifted and positioned quickly and connected accurately. All the indexes conformed to the design requirements after technical inspection. Chen Gang, the Secretary of Party Committee of Liuzhou and the Director of the Standing Committee of Liuzhou People's Congress, announced immediately, “Liuzhou Weiyi Bridge is successfully closed!” So far after 20 monthes hard working of CRBBG staff, the fabrication assignment of the bridge was satisfactorily coming to the end.

Weiyi Bridge is the key project of Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province. The total design length of the bridge is 2,090 m, the span distribution of main bridge is 108+288+108 m continuous steel truss arch structure, the total width of deck is 43.5 m with two-way eight-lane. The main truss is composed of two rigid trusses, the center distance between main trusses is 37 m, and the arch rise of main span is 55 m, which make the bridge of the greatest truss space and the greatest span in the steel truss arch bridges for highway (municipal) purpose in China at present.

The completion of this bridge plays an important role in perfecting the general plan of the city zone of Liuzhou, increasing the traffic capacity of road network, facilitating the passage of through traffic in the peripheral zone, improving the investment environment of northwest of the city, and advancing the economic development of North Liuzhou Industrial Garden.
