Recently the reivew meeting for Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ) and Fabrication Specification for steel trusses of Dongting Lake Bridge was held by Linxiang-Yueyang Expressway Dongting Lake Bridge Construction and Development Co., Ltd in CRBBG Yangzhou Company.

The attended experts and representatives listened to the WPQ Test Report and Steel Truss Fabrication Specification Report for steel trusses of Dongting Lake Bridge on Linxiang-Yueyang Expressway made by CRBBG, as well as the Supervision Report made by the supervision unit, and reviewed relevant documents. The experts came to an agreement after discussion that the WPQ test report was complete, detailed and reliable; the tests for welded joints covered all joint types in the design document; and all test results reached the requirements of relevant specification and design, thus it could be the basis for preparing the Welding Procedure for steel trusses of this bridge. The Fabrication Specification met relevant specification requirements and was complete and practicable, thus after complement and perfection it could be the basis for fabrication and acceptance of steel trusses of this bridge.

Located at Qili Mountain in Yueyang, Hunan, Dongting Lake Bridge on Linxiang-Yueyang Expressway is the key control project of Hangzhou-Ruili national expressway in Hunan Province, with main span of 1,480m and overall length of 2,390m. The project features in great technical difficulty, high safety risk and high construction standard. It is a steel truss suspension bridge with its span taking the second in the world and the first in China at present. CRBBG undertakes fabrication of 40,507 tons of steel truss. This bridge is also the second bridge over Dongting Lake undertaken by CRBBG after the Dongting Lake Bridge on West Inner Mongolia to Central China railways.
