The Approval of Welding Procedure and Fabrication Specification for Chongqing Egongyan Bridge
Recently the reivew meeting for Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ) and Fabrication Specification for steel box girders of Egongyan Bridge in Chongqing rail circle line 2nd stage project was held by China Railway Construction Major Bridge Engineering Bureau in Chongqing.
The attended leaders and experts listened to the WPQ Test Report and Fabrication Specification Preparation Report for steel box girders of Egongyan Bridge in Chongqing rail circle line 2nd stage project made by CRBBG, as well as the Supervision Report made by Chongqing Yucai Engineering Consultant Supervision Co., Ltd. They considered after adequate discussion that the WPQ test report was complete, detailed and reliable; the tests for welded joints covered all joint types in the design document; and all indexes reached the requirements of relevant specification and design, thus it could be the basis for preparing the Welding Procedure for steel box girders of this bridge. The Fabrication Specification was complete and practicable, and it could be the basis for fabrication and acceptance of steel box girders of this bridge.
As the rail-purpose bridge over Yangtze River, Egongyan Yangtze River Bridge on Chongqing rail transit circle line is a self-anchored steel box girder suspension bridge with double tower and double cable plane. The bridge has an overall length of about 1,700m and main span of 600m. CRBBG undertakes fabrication of 12,028.4 tons of steel box girder of this bridge. It will be the self-anchored suspension bridge with the longest span in the world when completed.
