CRBBG officially won the bid for fabrication and erection of steel box girder and steel tower of Yongding River Grand Bridge on the west extension of Chang An Avenue in Beijing, with total weight of 42,511 tons.
The west extension project of Chang An Avenue starts from Sanshi Road in Mentougou District in the west, and ends at the crossing of Gucheng Road in Shijingshan District in the east, with the overall length of about 6.4km. The Yongding River Grand Bridge is located on the west extension line of Chang An Avenue in Beijing, spanning Fengsha railway, East Xunhe Road, Yongding riverway and West Xunhe Road.
The main bridge of Yongding River Grand Bridge is a cable-stayed rigid structure composite bridge with high and low arched towers and crossbeam-connected separate steel box girders. The overall length of the bridge is 639m, the standard width is 47m and the maximum width is 54.9m at the combination of tower and girder of the high tower. The project features in large scale, complex structure, complicated panel point construction, and high requirment in processing and manufacturing precision, transportation and lifting capacity, welding technology and measuring and control precision, which make the project full of challenges from processing and fabrication to transportation and erection.
It is known that the bridge implies "Gate of Joint Forces". The high and low towers which form the artistic conception of "Gate of Joint Forces" adopt a creative design of gate-shaped pylon in inclined space. From an aerial view, they look like two people sitting on the ground face to face and feet to feet, pulling the cable in their hands at full tilt; and behind them a smaller "man" is puting forth his strength to drag the cable.
