The commendation meeting for National Model Workers and Advanced Workers was grandly held in Beijing on April 28. 2,968 national advanced and model workers with distinguished contributions, on behalf of all labourers, received the top respectful praise from the Party and the Nation. Zhang Li, Senior Engineer in Turnout R & D Department of CRBBG and who had the honour to be awarded National Model Worker this time, attended the meeting.

It is reported that China had commended the model workers for 7 times previously in the name of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and this time it is the nation's top level commendation once more to this group after 36 years since 1979. 7 members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee attended the meeting and presented the medals to the model workers. It was mentionable that Zhang Li was the youngest National Model Worker of Shaanxi Province in this session.
