"Windsail" on Lingdingyang Bay - Successful Installation of Top Tower Column..

Good news came from the construction site of Jiuzhou navigation bridge of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) on February 2 that the integral vertical turning and lifting of the top tower column at pier No.206 for Jiuzhou navigation bridge, which was fabricated by China Railway Baoji Bridge (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd, was completed. This is the first top tower column installed with the method of integral vertical turning and lifting in China, and its precise installation fills the gap in the field of installation of top tower column by integral vertical turning and lifting for large bridges in China as well as indicates that the construction stage for superstructure of Jiuzhou Navigation Bridge formally start.

The Jiuzhou navigation bridge fabricated by Yangzhou company is one of the three navigation span bridges of HZMB. It is a five-span continuous cable-stayed composite girder bridge with double tower and single cable plane. The main tower is designed as windsail and the elevation of tower top is 120m. The tower segment of top column vertically turned and lifted this time is 67.94m high and weighs about 1,168 tons, transported to the bridge site at the beginning of December, 2014 when completed in Yangzhou company.
