After three days' trial push and adjustment, the first push work for steel trusses of right part of Wusong River Bridge was successfully completed recently.
Located at the southeast corner of intermediate ring road in Suzhou and at the boundary of Suzhouyuan district and Wuzhong district, Wusong River Bridge is the key technical node of Suzhou's intermediate ring project. The bridge connects Xinghua street in the north, and Sutongli road in the south for a short term, then the rebuilt East Avenue by interchange for a long term. The bridge spans Suzhou-Shanghai channel and is designed as two-way ten-lane. The single span is up to 24.6m, which makes the bridge a steel truss bridge with the longest span in Suzhou. And the bridge width takes the first among the same kind of bridges nationwide.
This project adopts a construction method of combining push and floating tow to ensure the navigation. It is the first push for the right steel truss bridge as well as for the whole bridge. The successful completion of it not only buys time for the subsequent assembly work, but gathers more experience for the following pushes.
