At p.m. 6:56 on April 2, along with No.55001 test train fully loaded with 30,000 tons coal safely running into South Liucun Station in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, the test commissioning of heavy haul train with 30,000 tons haulage, organized by China Railway Group Limited on DaQin (Datong-Qinhuangdao) railway, achieved complete success. The enterprise who supplied heavy haul turnout series for this line was China's Research & Development Center for Railway Equipment, China Railway Baoji Bridge Group Co., Ltd.
Over the years, to meet the operation requirements of great transport capacity, high speed and high frequency of DaQin railway, CRBBG successively developed, manufactured and supplied more than 200 sets of 60kg/m and 75kg/m heavy haul turnouts for this line. Especially for the rail-bound high manganese steel crossings developed in recent years, the total traffic volume of the crossings on this line was up to 286 million tons, which set a new record for the service life of high manganese steel crossings in China.
DaQin railway is from Datong, Shanxi to Qinhuangdao, Hebei, passing through Shanxi, Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin, and the overall length is 653km. It is one of main corridors for West-to-East coal transport in China as well as the railway with the greatest annual volume of traffic in the world at present. This time the success of run test of 30,000 tons heavy haul train is a new milestone for the development of heavy haul railway transportation in China, and China has become one of the only several countries in the world possessing the technology for 30,000 tons heavy haul railway.
