CRBBG participated two world-class briges, Jintang Bridge and Xihoumen Bridge, in Zhoushan Mainland and Islands Link Project, were accepted by relevant department of the Ministry of Transport and appraised high quality projects on November 13.
Zhoushan Mainland and Islands Link Project is a grand project for connecting the mainland and islands and composed of five bay bridges. CRBBG has participated in the construction of Taoyaomen Bridge, Xihoumen Bridge and Jintang Bridge. In which, the latter two bridges are grand bay bridges with the highest technical requirement, total investment of 10.5 billion yuan, design service life of 100 years, started from May 2005 and completed and open to traffic in 2009. With the main span of up to 1.65 km, Xihoumen Bridge is a steel box girder suspension bridge with the greatest span in the world. It has been awarded the First Prize in Science and Technology by China Highway & Transportation Society in 2008, National First Prize for Excellent Welding Engineering in 2010, and Gustav Lindenthal Medal. With the sea-spanning part of up to 18.27 km, Jintang Bridge is the third bay bridge in China after Donghai Bridge and Hangzhou Bay Bridge. This project has near 100 items of technical innovation achievements, in which, 7 up to international leading level and 46 up to international advanced level.
