Chongqing Dongshuimen Yangtze River Bridge, participated by CRBBG, was accepted for completion and qualified for operation on March 26, 2014, and was officially open to traffic at twelve o'clock midnight on March 31, 2014 after approved by Chongqing Municipal People's Government, which indicated that an important rapid passage and landmark, spanning Yangtze River and connecting Yuzhong district and Nan'an district, was added to the central downtown of Chongqing.
Chongqing Dongshuimen Yangtze River Bridge is a combined bridge including upper and lower decks. The upper deck is for 2-way 4-lane highway with speed of 60km/h, and the lower deck is for double-track metro with technical condition preparation as for rail transit Line 6. The bridge starts from Tushan Road, Nan'an district, crossing Yangtze River, through Huguang Guildhall, and ends at Shaanxi Road, Yuzhong district, as well as connecting Yuzhong tunnel for Qiansimen Jialing River Bridge. The main bridge is a double tower and single cable plane cable-stayed steel truss girder bridge, with span of 222.5+445+190.5m. The overall length of steel truss is 858m. The materials are Q345qD and Q420qD steels. The total weight of steel girders is about 23,790.2 tons. CRBBG undertook the manufacture of steel girders for this bridge.
It is reported that Chongqing Dongshuimen Yangtze River Bridge has set six world records: the first span in the world among the same kind of bridges; take initiative in the anchorage type of cables and girders; the tonnage of tower anchor takes the first in the world; the tonnage of cable that is composed of 139 parallel steel stranded wires takes the first in the world; the main towers are an unique landscape in the world; and it is the only bridge in the world with the capacity of one cable of 1,450 tons.
