The China's first set of long span two-way expansion joint and expansion device for girders developed by CRBBG successfully passed the dynamic pushing resistance test recently. This new technological achievements indicate that China will completely say good-bye to the situation of longtime dependence on the import of this product.
The two-way expansion joint and expansion device for girders were developed by CRBBG specially for Tongling Yangtze River Bridge in Anhui province, which was a combined bridge with the longest span in China at present. To efficiently overcome the effect of release of temperature stress to track state after the installation of expansion joint, CRBBG and the members of research group of CARS (China Academy of Railway Sciences) jointly conducted the pushing test on the two tracks, and tested the track status by stages during the pushing. The test result showed that the longitudinal pushing resistance value of expansion joint, track status and other indexes met the design requirement, which laid a good foundation for the overall acceptance of this project.
It is introduced by the expert of CARS that before then, this product had been always dependent on import and the price was high as well as the maintenance costs; whereas CRBBG developed product not only exceeded the like-kind product imported in performance indexes, but also had a price of only one third of the import. It was the latest technical product worthy of the name "Made in China", and again showed CRBBG's abundant strength as the lead in the national bridge and turnout manufacturing industry.
