On September 20, China Railway Group Limited (CRGL) Industrial Equipment Department held the technical review meeting on trial manufacturing and laying of turnout series exported to Venezuela in China Railway Track Equipment Co., Ltd (CRTE). The former Deputy General Manager of CRGL Li Yihou, Deputy Director of Industrial Equipment Department Meng Xianghong, and CRBBG Deputy General Manager Dong Yanlu were present at the meeting. The UIC60kg/m-14 and UIC60kg/m-18 single turnouts manufactured by CRTE successfully passed the technical review at the meeting.
The turnout series exported to Venezuela are developed and manufactured for the Northern Venezuela railways, and CRTE undertakes the manufacture of 60kg/m-14 and -18 left hand turnouts. The turnouts have big difference compared with the domestic in design concept, selection of materials and structural style, which bring a lot of challenges and trials to CRTE in their development work. During the developing process, with the integrated technical platform of existing mature high speed turnout manufacturing technology and based on the technical features of product, CRTE established a series of processing measures to ensure the completion of trial manufacturing of turnouts by effective implementation of brainstorm for project, technical clarification, process tests, strengthening of processing measures, and outsourcing quality control.
At the technical review meeting held on September 20, the experts agreed that UIC60kg/m-14 and -18 turnouts met the design reqirements and could be delivered to IFE Venezuela for formal acceptance. On September 21, the turnouts were checked by the resident superviser from Venezuelan party that all checkpoints conformed to the inspection requirements, thus the turnouts were formally approved by the Owner to go into batch production.
The successful manufacturing and approval of the turnout series exported to Venezuela are of great significance for CRBBG to further develop its overseas market as well as promote the brand of China Railway's GLC turnouts.
