Fabrication of Najie River Bridge Goes Into "Countdown"

Since the winning of tender for fabrication of 9,047 tons of steel structures for Najie River Bridge for LinZhi Railway in Guizhou province, CRBBG set up Najie River Bridge Project Office to advance the early-stage preparations in full sail. Now the shop preparation for manufacturing of steel structures is basically ready and the project fabrication is going into "countdown" in all rounds.

Located in Pingzishang-Dachong section of the new LinZhi (South Lindai to Zhijin) railway, Najie River Bridge spans over Najie River in Dazhai Village, where is the boundary of Qingzhen City and Zhijin County. The bridge height is about 320 meters and the overall length is 810.10 meters. Deck truss X-arch bridge is adopted for the main bridge at 1-352 meters due to special type and large span of it. The main job undertaken by CRBBG includes purchase, transportation, inspection and blanking of materials; fabrication of steelworks such as arch rib, arch column, composite girder of steel and concrete, and connection segment of steel and concrete; trial assembly of arch rib and arch column segments; shop paiting, storage and transportation of arch rib, arch column and composite girder of steel and concrete; field bolting and welding of steel segments; final painting of steelworks; and removal of temporary steelworks, such as temporary assemblies, mounting plates and protective handrails, when the construction is finished.

Since this year, to make a good job for fabrication of Najie River Bridge, CRBBG established Najie River Bridge Project Office, and the Deputy Director of Steel Structure Workshop and Site Manager, Lv Jianfeng, had been in Guiyang and Najie River Bridge for twice to examine the transportation and field status as well as made a proper reservation for human resources. Based on technical documents and information in hand, the Steel Structure Workshop fabricated 22 sets of drilling templates at the end of May; coorperating with Equipment Department, repaired 800-ton press machine from July 15, and fabricated top and bottom films and baffles for the press on July 20, which were necessary for bending of top and bottom cover plates; fabricated underframe and support pier for the marking off table for suspension rods on July 20; completed two sets of jigs (L12m x W2.5m x H1.8m), which was reformed from jigs for ZhengJiao Bridge, for lengthening of suspension rods from July 25 to August 4; and issued Operation Instruction to 13 shop groups for well understanding of the processes in advance at the end of July, which indicated that the previous preparation had been generally finished and a solid foundation had been laid for the commencement of manufacturing.
