In the morning of April 9, with the placing of the last top bracing, the Yellow River Bridge for Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo interurban railways, the first super railway bridge with four lines over Yellow River in China, participated by CRBBG, was successfully closed, which indicated a phasic success of steel girder construction for this bridge.
The Yellow River Bridge for Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo interurban railways, loacated at 110~190 meters of lower reaches of existing Zhengzhou Yellow River Bridge for Beijing-Guangzhou railways, is a super railway bridge with four lines shared by Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo interurban passenger dedicated lines and rebuilt Beijing-Guangzhou railways. In which, bridge length for the former is 9.63 km and design speed 250km/h, and for the latter is 11.28 km and design speed 160km/h. The main bridge is constructed with four lines with the overall length of 2,200 meters. The construction of bridge started on October 15, 2010, and it was the unique super railway bridge with four lines over Yellow River at present. The existing Zhengzhou Yellow River Bridge upstream for Beijing-Guangzhou railways will be blocked up after the completion of this bridge. The main truss of truss girder is triangle truss type with variable height, three trusses arranged transversly and height of truss within 14~25 meters. The intermediate truss is parallel to trusses on both sides, and the overall width of main truss is 25 meters. The railway deck is orthotropic steel deck and the weight of steel girders is about 70,000 tons.
In the bridge construction, CRBBG undertook fabrication of GL-1 Section of 40,089 tons of steel truss girders. Since the start, all units of CRBBG paid high attention to it, closely cooperated, timely communicated with each other, planned resources as a whole, cleared up processes, and seriously prepared "Implementary Plan for Production of Bridge for Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo railways". At a later stage, CRBBG deeply carried out a working competition for the bridge fabrication to speed up shop fabrication and field construction with the assurance of quality, quantity and time span, and completed shop fabrication of truss girders by the end of 2012.
At the same time, the field erection was carried out and advanced. Since the start of erection on October 16, 2011, in spite of all disadvantages such as limited space of construction site, tight time span, simultaneous operation of trial assembly of bridge deck system and on-site construction, and variable weather, the staff of project headquarters, on the one hand, prepared proper construction plan and ensured supply of members and subsidiary materials, and that trial assembly of bridge deck system met erection requirement; on the othe hand, strengthened safety, quality and technical training, tracing and monitoring, realized zero accident for safety in production, and ensued 100% one-shot acceptance of products, thus met the requirementof erection of main bridge, laid the foundation for successful completion of the construction, and guaranteed the closure of girder trusses of the bridge. Now 70% site welds for the last segment of girder had been finished, and then the whole bridge paiting and shear stud construction will begin.
The successful closure of the Yellow River Bridge lays the solid foundation for the business operation of Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo Interurban Railways, which is a convenient passenger passage connecting Northwest Henan province, Southeast Shanxi province and Zhengzhou city, and of great significance for Henan province to realize "half-hour" economic circle between center city and circumjacent cities and to accelerate the construciton of central economic region.
