The Manufacture of Large Segment of Steel Girders of the First Round of Chaoma Bridge Successfully Passed the Evaluation

On October 9th, the manufacturing evaluation meeting of large segment of steel girders of the first round for the newly-built Chaohu-Ma'anshan Intercity Railway - Ma'anshan Road-Rail Yangtze River Bridge was held in Chaoma Bridge Project Department.

The experts, supervisors and owners inspected the general assembly site first, and conducted the visual inspection on the first round of large-segment welds according to the manufacturing inspection rules for Chaoma Bridge. Then they listened to the reports made by CRBBG, China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd., supervisors, third-party inspection agency and construction monitoring units, as well as the opinions by design units, reviewed relevant documents, exchanged views on the difficulties and priorities in the manufacturing process, and put forward constructive suggestions. After full discussion by the experts, it is considered that the manufacturing documents are complete, the technology is reasonable, the toolings are reliable, the quality assurance system is sound, and the quality meets the requirements of design and related specifications. The prototype passed the evaluation and the mass production can be conducted.

Project

Ma'anshan Road-Rail Yangtze River Bridge is a control project for the newly-built Chaohu-Ma'anshan Intercity Railway, which is located 2.3 km upstream of Ma'anshan Yangtze River Highway Bridge on Changhe Expressway. The cross-river section adopts the multi-channel bridge scheme such as "Chao-Ma Intercity Railway + Reserved Rail Transit Line + Urban Expressway". The main channel bridge has a main span of 1,120 meters. It is designed as a three-tower six-span steel truss cable-stayed bridge, with the total length of the main bridge is 3,248m. .
