CRBBG received the formal bid-winning notice for the project of fabrication of 27,200 tons of steelwork for 2nd Humen Bridge in Guangdong Province on May 19.

It is reported that 2nd Humen Bridge connects Nansha and Dongguan, the overall length of the main line is 12.9km, the design speed is 100km/h with 8-lane expressway standard. It is a double tower single span steel box girder bridge with the main span of 1,200m. The design service life is 100 years.

With the grand scale, complex construction conditions and numerous influence factors, key technical issues of the design and construction, such as wind and shock resistance, endurance of main cable, fatigue strength of bridge deck, and excavation of super-large scale foundation pit, will be settled for the bridge. The construction of 2nd Humen Bridge will refresh the record of span of suspension bridge in China and become a new milestone in China's bridge history.

When completed, the 2nd Humen Bridge will link the east and west banks of Pearl River and ease the traffic pressure with effect, which is of great significance for the development of local economy and tourism.
