Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge Wins 2015 Outstanding Structural En..
The Outstanding Structure Award Committee of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), with its headquarters in Zurich, switzerland, formally presented the 2015 Outstanding Structural Engineering Award, the top award recognized by the international bridge engineering field, to the project of Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge for Beijing-Shanghai high speed railways on May 25. It was another international award gained by Dashengguan Bridge after the George S. Richardson Medal, the 2012 top award presented by the International Bridge Conference.
Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge, participated by CRBBG, is the landmark project of the whole line of Beijing-Shanghai high speed railways, featuring in high speed, long span and heavy load, and all technical indicators have reached the world-class level. The 350km/h design speed reaches the world advanced level; the 336m main span is the longest span for high speed railway bridges in the world; and the 6-line rail transport undertaken by the bridge is with the most rail numbers and the heaviest load at present in the world.
It is reported that this is the 2nd time that CRBBG participated bridges won this award. Last year IABSE presented the award to Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge, another bridge participated by CRBBG.
